Stainless Steel 309/309S Nuts consist mostly of chromium (22-24%) and nickel (12-15%), which offer excellent oxidation as well as high-temperature corrosion resistance. The low carbon level in 309S makes it more weldable and reduces carbide precipitation. The nuts have satisfactory mechanical strength with tensile strength ranging from about 550 MPa and yield strength of about 205 MPa. They melt in the range of 1354°C to 1413°C, thus being suitable for service at high temperatures.
