They exhibit excellent mechanical properties, with a tensile strength ranging from 650 to 900 MPa and a yield strength between 300 and 450 MPa. The Brinell hardness falls between 180 and 250 HB. SMO 254 shows outstanding resistance to pitting (PREN > 42), making it well-suited for high-chloride and seawater environments. It maintains its structural integrity under high pressure and elevated temperatures, and its weldability and ductility make it ideal for demanding fabrication and assembly tasks.
