Stainless Steel 405 Washers are mainly made up of iron, containing 11.5–14.5% chromium along with small amounts of aluminum to boost oxidation resistance and machinability. This ferritic stainless steel grade provides moderate corrosion resistance and good ductility. Typically, it boasts a tensile strength of around 415 MPa and a yield strength of about 205 MPa, with an elongation of up to 20%. Its Brinell hardness falls between 170–200 HB. SS 405 maintains its structural integrity even at elevated temperatures, making it a great choice for thermal applications. Plus, it offers better weldability compared to other ferritic grades thanks to its stabilized composition.
