309/309S Stainless Steel Washers are chromium and nickel-based high-chromium alloys, normally with 22–24% chromium, 12–15% nickel, and negligible carbon content (for 309S), along with tiny fractions of manganese, silicon, and phosphorus. The composition provides excellent resistance to oxidation up to 1093°C (2000°F), and they are best for use where there is long-term exposure to heat.
