The alloy typically includes 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum. These nuts boast a tensile strength of about 515–620 MPa and a yield strength close to 205–275 MPa. They excel in resisting sulfuric, acetic, and formic acids, and perform admirably in environments with chlorides. The low carbon content of 317L also minimizes the chances of carbide precipitation during welding.
